The Crown is a custom-made permanent restoration. They look like hollow tooth-shaped “caps” placed on top of the prepared natural teeth.
Once glued in place, the Crown completely covers the entire visible part of the tooth above the gingival line.

• To repair an already broken tooth.
• To restore worn tooth length (eg by grinding).
• To cover and support overfilled teeth when there is not much natural tooth structure left.
• To make cosmetic changes, such as closing the space between teeth, changing the shape or rotating the teeth.

Currently, patients can also choose the crown procedure. Before making a choice, the patient should inform himself about CEREC and the traditional Crown. If you know the two steps, you can easily choose between them.
Treatment time
When choosing between CEREC and the traditional Crown, you need to consider the length of the process. The CEREC crown is placed in one visit. The dentist prepares the teeth, makes a crown, and cements it in place within two hours. Traditional crowns require two visits. The dentist prepares the teeth, takes an impression and places a temporary crown on the first visit. To know about when it’s time to focus and make a decision, call your doctor.
Material
The CEREC crown is made of porcelain. Porcelain crowns can be used on both anterior and posterior teeth. However, if the bite is too strong or misaligned, a porcelain crown fused with metal or gold is often required. The material is stronger and less likely to wear due to biting and biting forces. These crowns must be made at the dental laboratory.
